Melbourne Diary / UNION LANE

24/01/15

Back to the photo of a beautiful city which doesn't require much editing because the colors are already vibrant on its own, Melbourne.
I only spent 2 days in this city after getting tanned skin and adrenaline rush at Gold Coast. My first impression was, "Is it really summer?" I was greeted by the famous almighty wind  of Melbourne, so freaking cold for summer season ( and for me who is living in tropical country my whole life). I got cold feet and sudden sneezing attack because of thin wardrobe haha.
I stayed at The Art Series Larwill Hotel located in Flemington rd, near Royal Children Hospital. The hotel has the perfect location, it is situated right in front of tram line so I could easily go anywhere. One good thing about Melbourne, you can ride free tram around the CBD (Central Business District) which is basically consists the place you must go once you step your feet in Melbourne.
I spent the first morning in Melbourne, having brunch at Queen Victoria Market which was amaaaazzzingg. The market sold a lot of things with reasonable prices, my eyes were set to an $5 espresso stovetop but because I couldn't figure out how to pack it, I decided to not buy it (and regret it now) One of the stall also sold a kigurumi, (animal hoodie pajamas, as you can see in many korean variety show) only for $25, super great deal!! I've been looking forever for this kind of hoodie pajamas (from online shop to Japan and China), so glad I've finally found it on the most unexpected place! I picked the Totoro one because It was the cutest out of the bunch while my sis got the unicorn one. Since I was busy looking around and shopping, I only took photos at the Union Lane. It was right next to Royal Arcade Shopping Centre.  If you are a fan of Running Man, you might recognize this place.

(PS: Featuring my sister who is always so good at posing )

If only I wore whte t-shirt today *_* it would be like music video. LOL.

Currently typing this at 00.12 Sydney time. It's only 8 pm at my hometown :( Thanks God my sleeping pattern is not ruined ^^
Being far away from home is really hard, I always thought I'm a strong girl and with anti social and individualistic character I have, It wouldnt be such a fuss for me to live alone in another country. It was really easy at first..but at night when I realized I was alone,  I just...couldn't handle it. My mum says it's normal to be homesick and I need to seek for activities to get my mind off it..but yea, adapting to a strange environment is really sucks. I've lived my life for 22 years without a hassle, life is always easy back home..my comfort zone. Mum and dad always took care of everything. When time was hard, I had a lot of friends to cheer me up.
I dont know what God has prepared for me, they say God didnt give you test you couldn't overcome. this is my choice, as a 22 years old crybaby, no matter what difficulties lay ahead of me I have to take care of it myself. I want to make my parents proud of me.
That's it.
I'm sorry for blabbering some words you probably don't understand, It did make me feel better to share about it. It took out a lot of burden and tears both in my heart and my tear gland.

School's starting tomorrow, wish me all the best luck!

For you who are having a hard time (or even harder than me), please be patient, these things will pass, I promise. Goodnite :)

Pie & Co (Yummy Milk Pie)

20/12/14

What's better than these beautiful handcrafted beauties?

I've been a fan of anything with custard since I was a kid. Egg custard is one of the best thing in the whole world. When it comes with a pie, it becomes 100000x better, just like all these @pieandco's yummy milk pies :9

They come in a lot of flavors as you can see in the photo bellow, there are original, chocolate, cheese, choco cheese, oreo, choco oreo, choco chip, dark raisins, and choco caviar. They're both equally yummy, but my most favorite is the cheese and choco caviar one, simply because I love cheese and anything crunchy :D
It's like a pie fest now in my home..thank you so much @pieandco ^^

Breakfast in Bed :)

16/12/14

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day,  hope you agree too! As much as I love breakfast, getting up is another  problem for me. I'm a sleepyhead and my brain can't function well at least 1 hour after I first open my eyes haha. When laziness strikes in, I just eat whatever left in the fridge the night before and enjoy it on my bed a.k.a breakfast in bed. That's called laziness with style B) I was not really a breakfast person. I meann..who the hell wake up in the morning just to cook a meal..well not me at least. However, I know It's really important to eat in the morning before going to work or simply just to nourish the old noodle (read : brain) therefore I create a habbit to eat breakfast every single day 7 days a week. If you dont want to cook in the morning, just prepare something the night before. You have to eat in the morning, it's really important :D

The recap of my breakfast today :

Strawberry cream mini muffins, banana-strawberry parfait, and my favorite carrot and beetroot juice! Life's good :)

until then ^^

Wholewheat Chocolate Pancake

15/12/14

This recipe is one of my favorite healthy breakfast recipe. At first, I was not really sure about how it would taste like since I used wholewheat flour and I was not a fan for 'the healthy version of almost everything'. But I was proved wrong, wholewheat might have a little wheaty after taste but so far It didn't have a lot of difference compared to usual white flour.

So, here's the recipe

Ingredients :
1 cups whole wheat flour
1/4 cup cocoa powder
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 eggs, beaten
1 cup milk
2 Tbs vegetable oil (I used olive oil)
1 tsp vanilla extract

Direction :
1. Mix all the dry ingredients together (shift all the powder before to get rid of the lumps)
2. Beat the egg and sugar until pale then add the vegetable oil, milk, and vanila extract.
3. Mix the dry ingredients and the egg mixture together until perfectly combined
4.  Heat a skillet over medium heat and add a little bit of butter on it. Make sure you distribute the butter thoroughly. You can skip the butter if you use non-sticky skillet.
5. Add about 1/4 cup of pancake mixture to the skillet and wait untill the air bubbles come up.
6.  When all the air bubbles come up, turn the pancake to cook it on the other side.
7. Wait about 1 minute then transfer to plate.
8. Your pancake is ready!

Hope you like it! It's so yummy and guilt free :D
Untill next time ^0^
